Lamees Khoury Lamees Khoury is an abstract symbolism artist, born and raised in Nazareth and settled in UK. She studied Fine art at “Oranim Art College”. In 1990 she received a scholarship to obtain a master’s degree in Massachusetts at the “Schools of the museum of fine art” and “Tufts university”. Lamees has exhibited her Art work internationally in Spain, Jordan, Israel, different states of USA and UK. She embarked on the Journey of Writing, and had co-authored Books about The Arabic language, cultures, and cuisines. Her profile was futured in various public magazines and received the title ”Ultimate observer”. To add, Lamees was interviewed by the Israeli TV channel “Palestinian art, Language and cuisine”. Her artwork is found in private collections in Canada, US, Spain, Jordan, Israel and UK. Having witnessed the collapse of the old paradigms that shattered the Glass roof, essential questions resurfaced through the process. Those questions are the subjects of her thread of thoughts, curiosities and inspiration. Her observing childlike heart has found a safe haven in creating Art and is tirelessly fascinated with ancient symbols and objects that survived the test of time, believing that these elements are embedded within our collective consciousness and saturated with connotations and symbolism (collective architypes). Shapes and elementary Language, sound, symbols and ancient global architypes have formed the continuum body of her work.
